Costumer Reviews
I've had the very same QVC pots and pans my mom bought me for the final 7 years or so, wow was I missing out. I did extensive analysis, reading product reviews and weighing my solutions for a good set of pots and pans and these had been every little thing I'd hoped they'd be. They hold the heat extremely nicely, really sturdy, the glass covers are wonderful, I can and have washed them in the dishwasher repeatedly (according to the kitchenaid web site this is fine), the handles stay nice and cool on the ends, but don't grab too close to the pan mainly because it does abruptly become particularly hot. Superb set for the cost in my opinion. Kitchenaid has not let me down however.
We registered for this set as a wedding gift based on the critiques right here. Naturally, I'm in disagreement with the other reviewers on the top quality. The pots and pans look good out of the box and you can preserve them that way if you towel dry and don't scorch. But I easily noticed that the compact saucepan is a bit tipsy. If it really is empty and not on a completely flat surface the handle is too heavy and it will tip over. This is annoying with the grates on my stove.
Subsequent I noticed that the lids don't have steam vents. So I'm constantly cleaning water spills off the range from when things boil the lid off.
Worst of all, I was using the huge skillet and lid to steam some veggies. When I got ready to serve I couldn't get the lid off. We tried heating the pan up once again, we tried cooling it off, we tried prying it off, we tried letting it sit overnight. Nada. I still have a skillet and lid sealed together with my veggies inside. Not very good. I'm glad I kept one of my old Teflon skillets (stainless is pretty non-stick, but I would not cook eggs on it).
