It was lastly time to get rid of the old cookware now that the kids are out of the residence and I did not have to worry about ruined cookware any longer. My plan was three mil copper cookware or All Clad. But after seeing this in the store, feeling the weight and high quality and then reading a lot of reviews ... I decided to give it a try. My final price with coupon was $320 at BBBeyond.


Initially, this cookware is exceptional but you have to know how to use it. Put the empty pan on the heat at the temperature that you want to cook at. Wait about 2-three minutes and then add a little oil or butter (but have your food prepared or your butter will burn) and heat for about 20 seconds (butter) to 1 minute (oil). Then add your food. Eggs function wonderful this way and just slide off the pan. I have also put to use chicken broth to cook the egg in (just wanted to see if it would stick) and it did not. So as extended as your pan is at the correct temperature and you add some type of liquid you will be ok.


I like that the lids fit a lot of distinctive pans so if you break a single you quite possibly have a further on hand. I like that you can see through the glass but I do favor unbreakable lids. They are heavy and have stood up nicely.


The fry pans have all been made use of several times and are the correct sizes. The sauce pans have been put to use a lot and I did a chocolate sauce test amongst the smaller one and a copper pot I have of the identical size. Cooking 1 cup heavy cream, three/4 cup bittersweet chocolate chips and 1 tbsp. vanilla in both pans at the similar temp ... the copper pot was 40 seconds more rapidly to completion. Replacing this with the 8 quart stock pot (with inserts) would have been perfect. FYI - Calphalon no longer sells the inserts for the 6 quart. You can obtain some that will function on the internet but they do not fit as properly as they must. I bought the 8 quart pot separately and it is fantastic.


Cleaning is pretty quick if you do it correctly. I in no way spot my pans in the dishwasher though the directions say that you can. Let the pan cool, although you can add a tiny water to the bottom prior to it cools fully. Most of the time I just wash with a dishrag and it comes clean. Otherwise I scrub with a small Bar Keepers Buddy (inside and outside). I purposely burned some food in a fry pan and then tested clean-up. A 20 minute soak and 1 minute of scrubbing and it was back to typical. Make positive that you clean all of the grease off the pan each and every time - inside and out!


Storing the set does take some area and Calphalon says not to stack it. I purchased some felt dish separators at BBBeyond and use them to separate the pans. It works well, prevents scratching and I can stack the pans in my limited space.


If you use this set appropriately it will last many, a great number of years and I like the lifetime warranty.




Happy Pleased joy joy. I can't say enough beneficial points about this cookware. I have been utilizing the same stainless set, Meyers, for 10 years and believed that I was pleased with it till I began employing this set from Calphalon. The weight, feel and finish of the cookware is just right. I have been applying it day-to-day now for the final 2 weeks and have had no important complaints. The only minor complaint I have is with the metal handles just due to the fact that they do get highly hot for the duration of use and require the use of a potholder. Silicon handles would have been a nice addition to stop the heat.
